Listen: Dale Cornish Desecration

November 2020

Electro showman and mic provocateur shares an unreleased sound piece created from recordings of state funded orchestras

Desecration is a piece specially recorded for The Wire,” says Croydon based artist Dale Cornish. “From what I’ve seen the interaction between 'traditional' classical music and electronic music tends to focus around tentative and polite experiments which barely scratch the surface of what is possible, lest it be felt the classical music is ‘desecrated’. I decided to combine both with what I feel is a more intuitive and raw approach, using recordings of out of copyright/state funded orchestras.”

Cornish speaks about the ideas behind his latest album Thug Ambient and more in an interview with Chal Ravens in The Wire 435. Subscribers can also access the article via the digital archive.
