Mick Harvey Leaves The Bad Seeds

Founding member of the Bad Seeds departs...
Citing "a variety of personal and
professional reasons", Harvey, who was a founding member of the Bad
Seeds has decided to part company with the group and Nick Cave, a
longtime musical collaborator. The two met in Melbourne, Australia
whilst attending school, later forming seminal punk outfit the
Birthday Party before founding the Bad Seeds in 1983, and have
performed together ever since.
Harvey recently finished an Australian tour with the Bad Seeds,
ultimately performing at All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Mt
Buller on January 10. Though leaving the group, Harvey goes on to
say he "shall continue working on the Bad Seeds back catalogue
re-issues project over the coming year and look forward to the new
opportunities I shall be able to accommodate as a result of my
changed circumstances.
