Actress signs to Decca and completes Stockhausen project

Actress joins Max Richter, Clark and Will Gregory on Decca

Decca Publishing has announced they've added Darren J Cunningham aka Actress to their books, “signalling” as Executive Vice President Natasha Baldwin says, their “absolute commitment to building long and illustrious careers for the most talented composers out there”.

In other news, he's also completed the Southbank Centre and Holland Festival commission Actress x Stockhausen Sin {x} II, a new composition for voice, AI and electronics, following on from his AI debut as Young Paint.

Said to be a reimagining of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Welt-Parlament (1995), the one-off live performance features recordings of a load of MPs discussing love in the House of Lords during the Brexit negotiations. He'll be joined on stage by Italian pianist and Stockhausen alumna Vanessa Benelli Mosell, the Netherlands Chamber Choir and conductor Robert Ames. It will premiere at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 14 May.

According to Cunningham, more projects are on their way, from commissioned work to new technologies he's currently developing.
