Vision Festival Calls For Support

New York City's Arts For Art organisation and Vision Festival calls for support...

Artist run collective Arts For Art, which organises the Vision Festival of avant jazz and new music is calling for support in order to raise the $100,000 it needs to keep operating. Along with the festival (which has been running since 1996, featuring performances from some of the greatest exponents of new music and jazz) Arts For Art is involved with a variety of community based arts projects including RUCMA, Rise Up Creative Music and Arts. RUCMA, a grassroots coalition of musicians, artists and other interested parties attempt to create awareness of New York's need for a new creative music and arts centre to replace diminished public funding for the arts along with the closure of the club Tonic, which was forced to shut in 2007 due to increasing rent prices in the Lower East Side. The remaining donations needed amount to $35,000, for more information email or visit here.
