Bear Family records releasing 40CD set Black Europe

A box set which attempts to document the sounds and images of the black community in Europe prior to 1927 is being released by German label Bear Family records. Black Europe includes 40CDs of early recordings of black entertainers and musicians, and two coffee table books containing documents and images. The monumental box set includes recordings from the Paris World Expo in 1900, Josephine Baker, gospel singer Josiah Ransome-Kuti (Fela's grandfather) and more.
