Musikprotokoll festival funding cut after 45 years

Austrian public broadcaster ORF has pulled funding from the Musikprotokoll festival. The Austrian experimental music and art festival was founded in 1968 by Emil Breisach, and in its 45 year history has commissioned over 1400 works from Austrian artists, driving new music and avant-garde music in Austria and Europe. The festival functions as a laboratory, having fitted all visitors with sound transmitting heart monitors at one edition. Musikprotokoll have started a petition to keep the festival going, which you can find here.
