Throbbing Gristle are officially reactivating Industrial Records, after their contract with Mute expired this time last year. All four members (including Sleazy Peter Christopherson, before he passed away) voted to reactivate the label, with plans to re-release the Throbbing Gristle back catalogue.
The reissue schedule kicks off with a series of deluxe remastered vinyl editions and digital downloads (AAC, MP3, FLAC) of A Second Annual Report, DOA The Third & Final Report, Heathen Earth, 20 Jazz Funk Greats, and Throbbing Gristle's Greatest Hits, slated for release on 26 September in runs of 2000. TG have also bought all existing Mute stock, which is available (some of it discounted) as of this week via the TG site.
The Quietus also reported in April that Chris & Cosey would be finishing Throbbing Gristle's final album: a reinterpretation of Nico's Desertshore, which Sleazy Pete had been working on in Bangkok before he died.
