The next Counterflows will take place between 2–5 April at various spaces in Glasgow. Artists confirmed so far include MC Yallah & Debmaster, I-Jahbar & Bokeh Edwards, Sosena Gebre Eyesus, Gabber Modus Operandi, and Catherine Lamb & Johnny Chang. The festival has also announced Still House Plants as the featured act for 2020, with members Finlay Clark, David Kennedy and Jessica Hickie-Kallenbach performing new music and different sides of their work ahead of their forthcoming 12", to be released by Blank Forms (US) and Bison (UK).

“Over the last few editions we have grappled with the various ways of articulating what Counterflows is,” comment the festival organisers. “Moving beyond the dogmas and hierarchies of experimental music, as well as fighting the creeping isolationist agenda, we have sought to create a space of social cohesion in an increasingly discordant world.”
