Aguirre Records have announced a new reissue series

Aguirre Records have announced a new series of reissues from the archives of the Shandar label. Under the musical direction of French musicologist Daniel Caux, Shandar’s output included late 1960s/early 70s albums by the likes of Albert Ayler, Terry Riley, Sun Ra, Philip Glass, Cecil Taylor, Steve Reich and Charlemagne Palestine. The first two records in the programme are Steve Reich's Four Organs/Phase Patterns and La Monte Young & Marian Zazeela's Dream House 78'17", both out 24 February. The series title is Les Séries Shandar and each of its releases will be limited to 1000 copies, with a download code plus sleevenotes by Wire contributor Julian Cowley.
