Robbie Basho documentary now on DVD plus unheard music released

Recordings discovered during the making of the film to be released by Tompkins Square

Liam Barker’s 2015 Documentary film Voice Of The Eagle: The Enigma Of Robbie Basho will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on 13 December. The film documents the guitarist’s short life through interviews with Pete Townshend, Country Joe McDonald and Basho’s contemporaries, religious associates and a few close friends.

During his research process director Barker unearthed a large selection of previously unheard tapes recorded circa 1965–85. He's compiled them into the five CD box set Song Of The Avatars: The Lost Master Tapes, set for release on Tompkins Square. The set includes sleevenotes by Barker, Henry Kaiser, Steffen Basho-Junghans, Glenn Jones and Richard Osborn, as well as a selection of unseen photographs. The official release date has yet to be announced.

Voice Of The Eagle is available for pre-order now.
