New Zealand guitarist Peter Gutteridge, a stalwart of the Dunedin scene, died suddenly last week. Gutteridge played in The Clean, The Chills and Snapper, as well as The Great Unwashed and The Puddle. He released one solo album, Pure, on Xpressway, which was reissued last year.
Gutteridge suffered from the repurcussions of long term drug addiction, and after getting clean around three years ago, was then able to travel outside New Zealand for the first time. He was taken to hospital as he disembarked an aircraft on the way home from America after concerns were raised by airline staff.
