Celebrating the work of Philip Glass, the aptly named Glassfest takes place across three venues in Bristol between 7–10 November. The festival includes a conversation with the composer, a solo piano concert, film screenings and The Philip Glass Ensemble performing music from Glass’s soundtrack to the 1982 film Koyaanasqatsi.
The Ensemble then go on a short UK tour taking in Bristol Colston Hall (8 November), Manchester Bridgewater Hall (10), Basingstoke The Anvil (12) and Cambridge Corn Exchange (14 November). Ahead of the retrospective tour, Glass's new opera based on Franz Kafka's The Trial opens at London Royal Opera House on 10 October, which also goes on tour until 10 November. Full dates and more details on the opera here.
