Caught By The River Opens Bookshop At Rough Trade East

London's Rough Trade East record shop will soon also include a bookshop, run by blog Caught By The River. The stock list will include hard to find and out of print titles, as well as new releases, and book of the month promotions. Caught By The River will also be curating a series of in store events, starting with a Q&A on 21 September with long standing contributor to the blog John Andrews, and Bill Drummond reading from his essay "On The Road To Damascus".

For those outside the capital, Caught By The River will also have a dedicated part of the Rough Trade website. The bookshop will open later this month. More info here.

Unsound Festival Announces Discussion Programme

Unsound Poland has announced its full programme of discussion for the festival. The Wire will be holding a series of Q&A's, including a talk with Steve Goodman (Kode9), who will reflect on sound, music and the future using his 2010 book Sonic Warfare as a starting point, followed by a Q&A with The Wire's Lisa Blanning. Also scheduled is a Q&A with Leyland Kirby (The Caretaker), and How To Wreck A Nice Plyazh with Dave Tompkins, tracing the history of the vocoder.

Also included in the schedule are discussions and presentations from Morton Subotnik, John Foxx and Benge, William Bennett, Robin Fox, Felix Kubin, and more. For more details and a full schedule head here.

Cinema Soloriens & The Cosmo Drama

Marshall Allen (Sun Ra Arkestra), James Harrar and Eric Thielemans perform live to Harrar's experimental film work, plus a restored film from the Sun Ra archive. Group Inerane Announce First European Tour

Sublime Frequencies ensemble Group Inerane have announced their first European tour, led by six string guitar player Bibi Ahmed. To coincide with the tour, last year's Guitars From Agadez Vol 3 will be repressed simultaneously with a new 7", the latter of which will be sold exclusively on tour. Can: 40th Anniversary Tago Mago Reissue, Lost Tapes Box Set, Studio Album Box Set, Plus Halleluwah! Exhibitions

Big batch of Can news today, as plans for two box sets, two art exhibitions, and a 40th anniversary reissue of Tago Mago emerge. Tago Mago will be reissued on 14 November, packaged with a bonus CD of remastered live material, and featuring the original UK artwork (which has not been used in the UK since 1971).

Next year two box sets will be released. The first, a box set of all 14 studio albums, is planned for early next year (no specific dates yet), and will come with LP and CD versions of all 14 albums, booklets, a vinyl only live album, and vinyl only remastered version of Out Of Reach. Pre-orders open in October. A second box set, The Lost Tapes, is scheduled for March 2012, and will contain a collection of unreleased material curated by Can founder Irmin Schmidt and Daniel Miller.

As part of the Tago Mago anniversary, galleries in Stuttgart and Berlin will be hosting Halleluwah!, "a visual homage to Can", with contributions from Albert Oehlen, Daniel Richter, Malcolm Mooney, Carsten Nicolai and more. Stuttgart Abtart Gallery (16 September–5 November), Berlin Künstlerhaus Bethanien (24 November–18 December).

Cabaret Voltaire Jonny YesNo - Redux Box Set Incoming: Watch An Exclusive Film Clip

On 14 November, as well as the 40th anniversary edition of Can's Tago Mago, Mute will also release Cabaret Voltaire's Jonny YesNo - Redux box set.

Jonny YesNo - Redux features Peter Care's original 1982 film, a new version of Jonny YesNo, 140 minutes of bonus material, two CDs of mixes by Richard H Kirk, and Cabaret Voltaire tracks. The new version of the film relocates from Sheffield to LA with a new cast and Richard H Kirk's soundtrack. Watch a clip exclusive to The Wire below. More info here.

Sonar São Paulo 2012 Dates Pushed Back

A change of date for the Brazilian edition of Sonar has been announced, which was previously scheduled for March 2012. The festival has been moved back two months to 11–13 May 2012 to allow for upgrades to the venue and infrastructure.

The Barcelona edition of Sonar is scheduled for 14–16 June 2012, although the festival is currently up for sale, and produced a video advertising itself back in April. Watch it here.
