Beginning in the 2009/2010 academic year, the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem, Netherlands is offering a new Masters Degree in Music Programming. Over the duration of two years the part-time course will train students in the complex curatorial decision making needed in today's polyphony of new musics along with the less glamorous (though essential) aspects of fundraising, finance and budget management, as well as consensus-building and high-performing teamwork. Beginning 16 June, and then every two weeks finishing 22 September, an episode from Pere Ubu's project Bring Me The Head Of Ubu Roi will be podcast at www.hearpen.com. The series of 8 podcasts covers the first half of a radio play adapted by David Thomas from the playwright and pataphysicist Alfred Jarry's 1896 absurdist stage play Ubu Roi. Embedded in the podcasts are songs from Pere Ubu's forthcoming Cooking Vinyl CD Long Live Père Ubu! (out September 14), as well as dialog and electronic ambience. Sarah Jane Morris (ex-Communards, Happy End) performs the role of Mère Ubu, partnering Thomas who performs as Père Ubu. Members of the group supply the voices of other characters.

Resonance FM's 27 May Clearspot will focus on the music of Flaming Tunes. A collaboration between the late Gareth Williams (formerly of This Heat with Charles Bullen and Charles Hayward) and Marie Currie, their album Flaming Tunes was originally self released on cassette in 1985 and is to be re-released on 10 May by Life And Living Records, click here for more details on the release and here for the Resonance show (104.4FM 8-9PM GMT).

London-based Lux arts agency which exhibits, commissions and distributes film and video work by contemporary artists has recently posted a selection of videos online, including the 1971 film ERTH by the late performance artist John Latham as part of a series of uploaded films in anticipation of the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing this summer. Along with this they've also made available Luke Fowler & Kosten Koper's 2003 film portrait The Way Out which looks at the life of musician and artist Xentos 'Fray' Bentos.

London's Resonance FM show Little Atoms presented by Neil Denny and Padraig Reidy will be hosting an evening of discussion with the American linguist and activist Noam Chomsky this coming Friday, 24 April, at 7PM (GMT) on Resonance 104.4FM.

As part of the exhibition Altermodern: Tate Triennial 2009, Tate and The Peckham Plex Cinema will be putting on a special screening of the little known classic Radio On. With a soundtrack featuring David Bowie, Kraftwerk, Lene Lovich, Ian Dury, Robert Fripp, Wreckless Eric and Devo, the music in Radio On provides a natural counter balance to the films austere photography and fragmented storyline.

Tickets to this free screening can be collected from Tate Britain. To claim your free ticket simply go to the member's desk at the Rotunda entrance of Tate Britain and say "Post Modernism is Dead".

If there are any tickets left on the day of the screening people will be able to collect them directly from the cinema, but to guarantee a ticket, its best to collect from Tate Britain.

In an attempt to realise a live performance of his thousand year composition (a shortened 1000 minute version) Jem Finer is raising funds in order to buy the 236 Tibetan singing bowls needed for the concert. Interested parties can visit his website here and buy the individual bowls required. Along with having a word of their choice engraved upon the bowl, people who donate will also receive a ticket to the performance. The performance will take place at London's Roundhouse, Chalk Farm, 12 September. In the meantime Longplayer's current version in the form of an installation can be visited at Trinity Buoy Wharf in East London's Docklands.

The CD is an exclusive compilation of new Polish music, put together by AudioTong Foundation and Adam Mickiewicz Institute to mark Polska! Year 2009 - more than 200 events taking place in the UK throughout 2009 showcasing contemporary culture from Poland.

The Wire's own Will Montgomery and Brian Marley have teamed up to collaborate on a new CD entitled The Legend. Released by Entr'acte, the album is comprised of Marley reading from his text about an empty display cabinet, which Montgomery then recorded, filtered and otherwise manipulated. The album is in a limited run of 300, available from Entr'acte.

Titled Ailanthus/Altissima: Bilateral Dimensions Of Two Root Songs, the two LP set is culled from tapes of Taylor and drummer Tony Oxley recorded during their residency at New York’s Village Vanguard in July 2008. The set, which is being issued by Triple Point Records, will be available on vinyl only in a limited run of 475 copies. This is Taylor’s first album since 2004’s The Owner Of The Riverbank. Meanwhile, 4 Hands, Japanese director Yasuhiko Shirai’s film documenting a 2007 concert by Taylor and fellow pianist Yosuke Yamashita, still awaits a full blown cinematic and/or DVD release.
